Jee Hoon (Fred) Seo is a Korean writer/director at NYU Tisch School of the Arts (Class of 2024). He is pursuing a BFA in Film Production and a minor in Business Entertainment Media & Technology. Born in Seoul, South Korea he moved to Boston at the age of 7, attending prep schools around New England before returning to Korea in 2018 to fulfill his Korean military service.
JIN (10) is an Americanized Korean boy living in the U.S. with his MOM and his older brother TAE (18). He is eager to reconnect with his DAD, who provides for his family from Korea, when his relatives visit to perform the annual JESA, a traditional family ancestral rite. While Jin happily performs the ritual, he begins to witness Tae’s opposition towards the ceremony that causes his Mom to toil away in the kitchen. As the ceremony unfolds, Jin discovers his Mother’s ultimate sacrifice of staying in a loveless marriage to preserve his innocence and perception of family.
